Description

The pressure gauge is mounted on the pump outlet or main delivery line and gives a running readout of the pressure the pump is generating. In everyday use it confirms the pump is working normally; away from that normal band, it is usually the first sign that something in the system needs attention.

A reading that climbs and holds high generally points to a blocked line or a distributor that has stopped metering, while a reading that stays low can mean a leak, an empty reservoir or a pump on its way out. Checking the gauge as part of a routine inspection catches these faults early, before a starved lubrication point turns into wear or a breakdown on the machine it feeds.
