Pressure Switches

Where a gauge only shows pressure to whoever happens to be looking at it, a pressure switch does the same job electrically. Wired into the main lubrication line, it trips when pressure crosses a preset threshold and sends that signal back to the machine's control panel, so a fault can raise an alarm or halt the equipment without anyone needing to check a dial.

That covers the same failure modes a gauge would show by eye — a blocked distributor or line pushing pressure up, or a leak, empty reservoir or pump failure letting it drop — but does it automatically, which matters on equipment that runs unattended. Pressure switches are often paired with a level switch on the reservoir so both the supply and the delivery side of the lubrication system are monitored.
